Adidas Leistung II 2.0 Weightlifting Shoes

These are probably my favorite late model (last 3-4yrs) weightlifting shoes from Adidas. These feature a 1” heel, about a 1/4” step up from the Adipower’s. If you need a 1” heel, these aren’t a bad choice. Adidas weightlifting shoes tend to run narrow in the forefoot, but these do not!

The Good; The idea of the Boa laceless tightening system. The 1” heel and the outward flare of it provide great stability, these are only 2nd to the Positions in how I would rate their stability and connectedness to the platform. The shoes are incredibly soft, with lots of padding on the inner liner. However, this can create a bit of an issue depending on your training environment.

The Bad; The reality/execution of the Boa laceless tightening system. The generously
padded inner liner feels great on the feet….until you start to sweat. The bulk of my training occurs outdoors, on my platform that’s built in the carport. It’s often hot and humid, or cold and humid. Sweat happens regardless of outside temp, and it happens *a lot* in these shoes!

The Takeaway; They did me well in many meets, but needed to be retired for the sake of those around me (they start to smell like knee sleeves…) and also to find a better solution. These will always have sentimental value, to me, but their utility in training and competition was eclipsed by the Ironwork II and the Position P3/P3+
